At the Correctional Development Center, we focus on a variety of efforts to improve the chances offenders do not come back to jail. Two highly acclaimed state-licensed programs operate out of this facility: the Sheriff’s Anti-Violence Effort (SAVE), a treatment program for domestic violence perpetrators; and, New Avenues, a 45-day intensive alcohol and drug treatment program.

In addition, a myriad of Educational Services are provided to enrich the lives of the participants:  GED/HiSET (High School Equivalent Testing) program, Vocation, Life/Job Skills, English as a Second Language, Digital, Trade School and Apprenticeship training. These training hours are transferable to the Lee Corporation program. The current HiSET exam is aligned to the Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education College and Career Readiness Standards.

Our staff works diligently to end an offender’s cycle of crime. All of our programs at this facility increase the chance an inmate can become a productive citizen upon release and that is the end goal for us all.

We will advise you with as much advance notice as we can when visits will move from free to some rate per visit. You may experience a few issues with the duration of your visits today but, we expect visitation schedules to return to normal by Wednesday November 20th. Thank you in advance for your patience.
