Congratulations to Barbara Freeman (14.5 years) from Pretrial Services and to Warrant Officer Greg Smiley (24 years)! Both were peer nominated for their work ethic, professionalism, and dedication to our community! Also recognized this morning were the officers and staff tasked with updating our Personal Appearance Policy. Soon we will see their gender neutral approach to this policy AND their efforts will continue in April when the same group will take on our policy for Employee Uniforms!
Keith Payne, Demetria Fields and Johnny Metilor (Pretrial Services) were recognized at our monthly meeting for their response to a critical incident in front of the Ben West building. Their actions and willingness to assist without a doubt kept a bad situation from getting worse.
Each month we nominate a Super Tweeter! This person through either Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram is our foremost online advocate and helps us spread the word about the great work being done by our officers/staff! Congratulations to our newest member of the #SuperTweeter club, Officer Amber Rumsey!
Warrant Officer Rodney Kelly also took home some accolades from the meeting! He received our Exceptional Service coin for being our team leader at the 2019 Music City Polar Plunge. The team nearly raised $2,000 for Special Olympics Tennessee with Officer Kelly bringing in more than $500!
Kudos to Ruby Joyner and Kinya Jamison! Both continued their professional development by earning certifications from the American Correctional Association. Ms. Joyner is our newest ACA Certified Corrections Manager and Ms. Jamison is now a Certified Corrections Officer.
